Love Every Challenge
Start date: Aug 1, 2016, End date: Feb 28, 2017 PROJECT  FINISHED

Erasmus+ Training course “Love Every Challenge!” will happen from 10th – 18th of October in Outward Bound Croatia educational centre in Veliki Žitnik, Croatia, gathering 24 participants from 8 countries – Netherlands, Spain, Latvia, Portugal, Poland, Romania, Finland and Croatia. Main aim of the training is to encourage the use and understanding of Outdoor Adventure Education (OAE) in youth work - an experiential method of learning incorporating the use of all senses. Main focus of Outdoor Adventure Education is on educational nature of the experiences, close interaction with outdoor environment, elements of real or perceived risk and uncertain outcomes. During the training course, participants will experience skill-building exercises, real-life examples and hands-on activities, like 2-day expedition, rock climbing and orienteering, followed by trainers' soft skills development (facilitation, communication, conflict management, feedback, debriefing, reflection and evaluation), as they are crucial for integration of the participants' outdoor experiences into a deeper self-understanding. The result of the project will be 24 youth workers enabled to use outdoor adventure education methods in their youth work and eight social projects of each national team addressing a relevant issue of youth in their community with a use of OAE methods. One month after the training course, participants will also receive "OAE toolkit" - a handbook created by the project's organizers with explanation about Outdoor Adventure Education methods, main working principles, practical tips and examples of activities used in the training. But more importantly - new partnerships and stronger connection between the organizations who use Outdoor Adventure Education methods in their youth work in EU.
