Look out! It's a Wicked Connection!
Start date: Aug 1, 2014, End date: Feb 29, 2016 PROJECT  FINISHED

Our idea is based on the long term project that will connect people through concerts and festivals, children workshops and will bring together all people of all ages. Together we will contribute against all types of discrimination. We support cultural diversity, we make a lot of effort to invite children and youngsters form different minorities, and our aim is to include everyone and promote acceptance and tolerance by providing the young people opportunities to spend their time and learn new things together in non-school environment. We associate young people from all aspects: urban, rural, all nationalities and social classes. We want them to spend their time through activities and workshops of rich content and high quality. Hosting organization is Youth Center Postojna, from Slovenia. Duration of this EVS project will be 1 year and we will host 2 volunteers from France and Turkey. Youth Center Postojna is preparing a cultural festival called Zmaj ma` mlade, which is taking place in Postojna in August every year. Volunteers will work on final preparation for the festival program, communicating with participants, donators, preparing place where the festival will be held, organizing places to stay for our foreign participants. EVS Volunteers will work together with our experts in art and musical production. They will be developing their own project in working with children, so small children will get an insight in different culture directly. EVS volunteers will help us to make a best festival program, for the participants, artist, singers, bands, stand-up comedians, from other EU countries and local, like we did for the past 14 years. Every year there are cca. 70 individual events based on inter cultural ground and over 10000 visitors. EVS volunteers will be learning in non formal education process in form of life long learning project.
