The project is a group EVS involving 2 youngsters coming from Russia and France who will be active in the framework of the local project of active citizenship La Città dell'Utopia for 12 months, starting on 01/09/2014 In the framework of the economical crisis that is hitting the continent, international mobility is a chance to promote youth empowerment. Objectives of the project are the following: - Fostering youth empowerment and the personal and social growth of the two young people involved in the project. - Promoting Active European Citizenship, raising awareness on its characteristics through public events, seminars and local initiatives - Promoting international volunteering in the local community of Rome, Municipio VIII, thanks to the constant relationships between the community and the volunteers. The Project of SCI Italy, La Città dell'Utopia is marked by a unique combination of being rooted in a specific district of Rome and being open to an international dimension, thanks to the network of Service Civil International. In that framework the volunteers will be involved in three main activities. - Promotion of public initiatives on the subject of European Citizenship - Participation to activities of social inclusion promoted in the framework of "La Città dell'Utopia" (workshops, seminars) targeting immigrants, ROMA and other minorities - Contribution to the awareness campaigns carried out and promoted by Servizio Civile Internazionale mostly through web and multimedia tools. The participatory methodologies used in all project phases will allow the volunteers to learn by doing: the project will represent for them a personal growing path providing them with skills and competencies that will be useful for their future life and, most of all, that will be used when they will come back to their countries of origin, in order to promote the values of international volunteering. The youngsters involved will return to their countries with an enriching experience that will allow them to be active in their sending organization and to disseminate contents shared during the EVS project.
