Start date: Oct 31, 2011,
End date: Jun 29, 2015
PROJECT
FINISHED
The LIPARIS project aims at strengthening co-operation between stakeholders in the field of biodiversity protection on either side of the Channel, as the territories face the same problems of biodiversity degradation. Achievements: The LIPARIS project has set up a programme to re-introduce an orchid species which had disappeared from Kent by using French root stock. French partners have drawn on the English experience to develop their skills on producing inventories of bumblebees and to create a repository of this species. Several joint action plans have been implemented to preserve other endangered species, along with ecological restoration works involving volunteers from both sides of the Channel.
