The project took place in Liepaja, the third biggest city in Latvia with 75 000 inhabitants, situated on the coast of the Baltic sea, between the sea and Liepaja lake in the West of the country. Liepaja is known as a city of music, many classical and modern music festivals take place here during the spring and summer. In the period of school time the city is full of students from Liepaja University and Technical University of Riga Liepaja branch. The project ?Liepaja - Ankara is New Expierence? was 6,5 months, and its aim was to develop possibilities of young people to take part in the organisations activities, develop international cooperation, and to give possibilities to take part in the different local activities. The tasks of volunteer were to provide social activities and take part in the youth group volunteers? activities, at the same time to develop the volunteer ideas, interests, realize them in the Project time and after the Project. Volunteer had a possibility to choose her activities, but first months she got to know the conditions and working style of our organisation and studied Latvian language. Volunteer role in organisation daily work was quite large with children and youth: ? responsibility about new project management; ? participation in already existing projects and work with youth; ? volunteer became an instructor; ? organise discussions; ? educated local children and youth about her home country, traditions, hobbies etc.
