The module proposes a short teaching programme in the field of economic liberalization, privatization and European integration with a special focus on countries in Central and Eastern Europe (CEE). The programme consists of two courses.The project objectives are as follows: (i) promotion of specific EU knowledge relevant for students in their professional life; (ii) fostering the introduction of EU aspects into mainly non EU related studies at the host institute; (iii) promoting innovation in teaching focusing on multi-disciplinary studies; (iv) creating interest in the EU studies among young researchers at the host institute.The project value added can be outlined at least in four dimensions. First, to teach students to discuss (i) state regulation and state ownership in Eastern Europe before 1990, (ii) the policies for economic liberalization and privatization, (iii) convergence (divergence) patterns of transition, (iv) their effects on economic performance, (v) the challenges of the global financial crisis. Second, to foster teaching on EU issues at the host institute. Third, to promote innovation in teaching applying multidisciplinary approach. Fourth, to carry out research involving young researchers working on two papers.The basic project activities include: (i) presenting lectures connected with seminar presentations by students; (ii) delivering didactic materials and power point format materials, and using virtual platform Learn&WU for online communication; (iii) working on two research papers; (iv) participating in one national and one international workshop. The main project outputs are the introduction of a new teaching module on European integration issues at the host institute and writing two research papers for publishing in peer-reviewed journals.Impact. The project is expected to benefit students, researchers and general public (including professionals, civil society representatives).
