The strategic outlines for cross-border tourism are knowhow, marketing, products, entrepreneurship, infrastructure and land-use. The project combines these outlines with the principles of quality, sustainability, partnership and regional development. The process is concerning the current problems and future goals of cross-border tourism and examines the needs and expectations of the key actors. First, the current situation in the target area and the challenges facing tourism there will be introduced and analyzed with participation of various local actors. Then new positive vision will be developed. Participation will be stimulated by focusing on economical and social effects of tourism in the border area. Project implementation ще премине през следните фази: Preliminary researches: workshops, dissemination of target questionnaires, involving target groups and beneficiaries and получаване на информирано мнение относно разработваните дейности; research of all available strategic plans and gathering actual information. On site visits and consultations: workshops, reporting of opinions and proposals the target groups and beneficiaries,assignment of specific activities of highly qualified external experts to more fully achieve the objectives of the project; Constant internal coordination with partners: work meetings, constant information flow between the partners, joint planning and reporting; Constant verification of the objectives and results generated: periodical evaluation of the relevance, effectiveness, estimated impacts and project financial sustainability, constant dialogue with target groups and beneficiaries, transparency through publicity and visualization. Operative capacity: building flexible, motivated and professional project team with experts on either sides of the border guaranteeing successful implementation and management; horizontal and vertical relevance at operative level of all stakeholders – public and private bodies. Achievements: The project achieved the following results:• Developed Joint Work Programme (JWP) for cross-border tourism including background situation, challenges, vision and the values, strategic outlines and impact assessment. The JWP was printed in 1000 copies and distributed to the target groups as well as presented at all project meetings, tourist fair, trainings, seminars etc.• Four promotional packages for joint cross border tourism destinations have been made and distributed - Culinary, Rural, Youth, Extreme. In addition, a new tourist brand for cross-border tourism has been made - Super Balkans;• Organized a tourism fair for promotion of the border tourist attractions;• Organized a training of entrepreneurs on hospitality and tourism management, two press conferences and an extensive publicity campaign.
