We are 28 young people from Estonia, Germany, Ireland and Poland who are going to hold a multilateral youth exchange in Elva, Estonia, June 23-28, 2009. The themes of our project are European awareness and Environment, through which we want to declare our readiness to tackle environmental problems in colloaboration of young Europeans. During the exchange, we intend to familiarize ourselves with the key environmental issues of Europe, and most importantly, come up with our own ideas about young people living green lifestyle. In parallel, we intend to develop our intercultural communication skills and learn how to work as a team. This exchange will raise our self-esteem and personal integrity as we learn how to trust each other, how to hold one another accountable, and how to focus on the achievement of our common objectives as responsible and respectful team members. The desired outcome of the exchange, however, can be seen in us having grown more conscious of environmental problems, having learned how thinking creatively can help us generate effective solutions, and having developed a poster and booklet campaign to introduce our standpoints to our home communities.
