The youth exchange "Let's Talk about Europe" took place in Agros - Cyprus from 26/3-3/4 2016. It involved 42 participants from Cyprus, Lithuania, Romania, Germany Czech Republic, Bulgaria and Spain. The project was hosted by “Agros Environmental Group". The main aim of the youth exchange was to create space for intercultural dialogue and to give the participants from different countries the opportunity to share common values and learn about other cultures .During the week of the exchange we had different activities such as: games, group works, discussion about European values, about active participation and other activities addressing issues of discrimination. All the activities were designed so as to develop in participants the sense of confidence and to encourage them to be active citizens and to take active role in the life of their community. By means of this workshops participants were able to express their understanding of tolerance, diversity and united Europe. Methodology consisted of : workshops, games, simulation games, discussions. The workshops were based on the principal of rotation, so that all participants could participate in all of them by changing their group each day and in the end they will come up with final presentation. All these are elements of Non-formal Education focus on voluntary learning and active participation. We had an excursion to Limassol, during which participants get to know about the culture and history of the hosting country .During the international evenings participants had chance to present their own country, culture and traditions and get to know other cultures at the same time.
The aim of this project was to bring together young people who are interested in tradition and culture of their countries. We tried to combine different cultures and civilizations through presentations of each country’s culture, history and workshops. We work with traditional instruments, so at least one participant from each country learnt about others culture. During the project we exchanged cultural information through music, dance, songs and we will work on making our European culture. This was done in an interactive way in intercultural learning environment.
