Let's say Stop! to gender discrimination in education

Our project reunites schools from Romania, Italy , Spain, Czech and Turkey in a joint effort to fight gender discrimination in education. We aim to promote equal opportunities to quality learning, free from gender-based or other forms of discrimination. We intent to raise awareness on gender discrimination and support communities in their attempts of eliminating it.
Objectives of the partnership:
1) to know and compare other countries and cultures;
2) to broaden students horizon, to change their perspective by meeting new people and cultures, to develop tolerance and empathy;
3) to help students interact with their environment and develop their creativity through drama, photography and videos;
4) to encourage students to write their own plays presenting traditions, customs before the mobilities and perform the plays during the mobilities;
5) to give students a chance to express themselves in a correct way, to correct misunderstandings and break down prejudices;
6) to help students learn to work together, to cooperate, to listen and accept different point of views or contributions of others;
7) to develop the capacity of education policy-makers, planners, teachers and other education personnel regarding gender-sensitive approaches; to break down the prejudices using drama, dance, photography and videos; to catch students' attention to the other people in the World;
8) to create an opportunity to use foreign languages and minimize the difficulties of speaking foreign languages in public.
In order to achieve our goals, in each of the partner schools project teams will established, consisting of teachers and students. The target groups are the students. We intend to carry on the following activities:
- creating an Erasmus+ corner;
- Logo competition;
- preparing booklets with school presentations;
- organizing chorus;
- making posters, videos presenting a history of women's education in Europe;
- organizing receptions and seminars on the topic;
- creating comics, mini-posters, photo albums with women who fought for education;
- street interviews;
- Medieval Street Dances;
- advertising campaigns: girls who are forbidden to go to school;
- articles;
- calendars;
- Black-light theatre;
- forums;
- creating documentaries;
- organizing exhibitions with photo albums, booklets, etc.
We are aiming for the next impact:
- strengthening students' self-esteem, thinking skills, self-discipline, active participation;
- developing the creative dimension in education;
- improving of ICT and foreign languages skills;
- improving body expression skills;
- developing tolerance and collaboration skills;
- creating and promoting a positive image of the school at a local, national and international level.
In perspective, the project aims at making a change in term of mentalities, with long-term positive effects on the European society.
