LET'S PUZZLE VOLUNTEERING OUT

The aims of the project, which is organized by the Turkish Red Crescent Izmir Branch Youth Department, are to make participants familiar with the youth activities in Red Crosses and Red Crescents via country presentations, to provide a partnership and a network between them, and to create new projects in the future. This project will be held in Izmir and it lasts for 8 days. The project countries are Macedonia, Romania, Turkey. Macedonia and Romania are going to have 10 participants (include 2 leaders), Turkey will have 15 participants (include 3 leaders) in total there is going to be 35 participants. In the project non-formal education, interactive methods and creative drama will be used to make participants to know each other. The other aims of the project are to introduce participants to new cultures, and if there is, prevent prejudices and increase solidarity and understanding of each other. In addition, the concept of volunteering, which is one of the basic principles of Red Cross and Red Crescent, is going to be discussed during the camp. Participants' awareness about volunteering and human relief will be increased through workshops. There will also be brain-storming sessions about prevention of discrimination, active citizenship, youth issues etc. Finally, there will be cultural trips and social activities, which will allow participants to learn more about Turkish culture and history.
