LET'S MOVE FOR SOCIAL INCLUSION
Start date: Dec 1, 2011,
The idea behind “Let’s move for Social Inclusion” EVS project is the one of promoting the richness brought by cultural diversity and youth active participation through our volunteers engagement in activities dealing with social inclusion of street living children, refugees, homeless, elderly and disabled people in order to combat stereotypes and discrimination of those that we commonly consider different from us for ethnical, geographical, social or economical reasons. The EVS project will bring together 20 youngsters that will be involved in long term volunteering experiences (from 6 up to 11 months) in Europe (represented by Italy, Spain, Estonia and Poland) and in Latin America (represented by Honduras, Colombia, Bolivia, Peru, Brazil and Ecuador). The young volunteers will be engaged in a wide variety of local hosting projects, ranging from youth organizations to NGOs, schools and shelters. Protagonists of these activities, based on the non formal learning approach, will be European and Latin American youngsters coming from difficult social or economical backgrounds or with problems in finding a job. In this sense our project aims also at promoting volunteering opportunities to enhance young people’s intercultural skills and engagement in civil society.Supporting the idea that stimulating youngsters through dialogue and intercultural knowledge is one of the fundamental elements to make solidarity an element of strong non formal educational impact, all the partners involved wish to arise through this voluntary service project a strong sense of tolerance and understanding of diversity, as important way to prevent social exclusion in our societies.
