CONTEXTThe Institute "G. Nosengo" Petrosino includes kindergarten, primary and secondary school and it is located on the west coast of Sicily. It has a population of about 8,000 inhabitants. It has an agricultural economy and the unemployment rate is higher than the national one and invests mainly young graduates who are then forced to emigrate. There are 825 pupils and 130 units of school staff.BACKGROUNDThe basic needs of the participants are to compare their teaching skills with foreign teachers, to improve their language , technology skills and to teach their discipline with CLIL modality. The teachers, who are involved in the this project, teach science, maths, foreign languages and humanities and will participate in training courses in Europe to improve their skills and abilities, thus improving the performance of their students. Our teaching methods should be updated and revised, as they do not always manage to turn the subject knowledge of the students in skills. The entire school staff feels the need to improve their professional profile with new tools to enrich the educational process. The internationalization teaching methods will ensure academic success for both teachers and pupils.AIMSOur aim is to acquire, through the activities proposed by the courses, both pedagogical and technical skills in the use of media in education. To help teachers and students to become more aware of the new potential technological tools which they already have. For example, every pupil has got a tablet or a smart phone but he or she doesn't know how it works or how they can create something with it. To ensure that their use is not only passive or limited to the role of the user but also active. It is also expected with these new teaching methods and improved competencies of the courses will give a higher motivation to the whole staff and students. In this way they can compare and improve methods of learning and teaching like in the European schools. The aims are to increase media literacy in the digital environment in order to achieve a more competitive knowledge while contributing towards a more inclusive media society.PARTICIPANTS: No 12CHARACTERISTICS OF PARTICIPANTSEnglish language proficiency B1 ;Coordination and training activities within the school and in society;ICT skills and certifications ;Motivation and willing to ongoing training in their profession ;Be representative of the three types of schools with different functions and specializationsACTIVITY The project contributes to the priorities related to the development of basic and transversal skills, in line with the strategic European framework for cooperation, production of materials, sharing of ideas with English and Spanish trainers and with all the participants coming from other states; Moodle conferencies, e-twinning activities and exchanges through the next action KA2.METHODOLOGIESCooperative learning, action research, group work, project work, blended learning, e-learning.EXPECTED RESULTSImplementation of a new model of teaching and internationalization of cognitive processes;Improvement of test results Invalsi and evaluation of internal audits;Improving levels of literacy and technological competencies.DISSEMINATIONThe communication within the Institute will be mainly through the involvement of the governing bodies: the School Council, Board of teachers and class councils; the objective is to work to using European school curricula and to start the project of innovation in terms of organization and teaching (best practices and new technologies): The official document of information is represented by POF.To involve colleagues from other institutes and local authorities information will be available on school website, publications, events on local media, online, social networks.
