Colegio Hernández with the application for this project pretends to face the current training needs of its teaching stafft. All the teaching staff, 30 teachers have taken part in the design of our European Development Plan after a SWOT analysis and taking into account the growth strategy of the EU 2020 . Therefore the main areas for improvement are the following:
- Increasing linguistic competence in English ,for both teachers and students.
- Implementing new teaching methods (Clil approach) . Developing ICT tools and resources. Increasing the use of collaborative platforms such as e-Twinning .
- Strengthen the European dimension and internationalization of our school: Implementing a management policy based on internationalization , participation in European projects in the framework of the Erasmus + programme and the creation of networks with other European schools.
In order to achieve the main improvement areas were have selected courses we think will suit our needs and the possible number of participants ( 6). The profile of the participant must comply with the following features :
- Teachers who want to contact with colleagues in other European countries and establish future partnerships and networks.
- Teachers who enjoy working in a team and in an environment of cooperative and collaborative learning
- Teachers who accept the commitment to integrate the skills and experience gained in professional development courses in order to get the strategic development of our organization and are committed to take part in the planned activities for the dissemination of the project.
Our main goal is to help improve the continuous professional development of our teaching staff in order to develop a long-term policy -based on multilingual crosscurricular approach by implementing new methodologies learned in the in-service training courses and by using collaborative platforms , with a clear impact in all sectors involved at local, regional and European level. This will allow our school to offer more attractive programmes for the students and adapted to the current needs of the European citizens in the 21st centruy, we will be also able to integrate best practices and new methods in our teaching practice and get higher level certificates in foreign languages, especially English.
