PROJECT
FINISHED
This project is aimed to provide for young people opportunity to travel, volunteer, experience European Mobility, international atmosphere and Christian values in the practice through attending at World Youth Days in Krakow 2016. THe group of 30 motivated and active volunteers mainly from our region including young people with economic difficulties and one boy with disability. We have decided to coordinate such a project because of many reasons, mainly because of the WYD are quite close to our region, for young people attending at them could be a great motivation for the next European Mobility and volunteering local and foreign, also because of the similarity between our and Polish language and culture and time of the short term EVS is more acceptable for young people who haven´t been abroad yet. Also we are christian organization and the WYD is the biggest international meeting of the people who are Christians so we also want to experience an express our belief and values and spread them among young people. Young participants will be carefully selected because we want (after a detailed communication with the Polish partners) to send active, flexible and helpfulled and skilled young people. The whole stay for them will be an opportunity how to develop their talents and abilities and also motivate them for the social thinking and become more active in their local/regional communities. Also for most of them it will be first contact with other cultures and nationalities so they will learn to be more open, tolerant and break prejudices. The activities will be devided depending on the time. First weeks it will be different administrative work, organizational support, communication with staff, organization of promotion material, designation of the places, ...During the WYD itself the activities will be different because of different workshops, necessary help to organizational staff, support to guests and other international groups, help in coordination, meal providing, etc. All these activities will be coordinating with the our Polish coordinator who will be in a contact with our both Slovak coordinators. We plan to work with the group of young people after return from the WYD because we want to cooperate with the young people in the future in the way to organize local activities in which we will promote experiencies from Krakow not only to show what we have done and helped but also to break prejudices among people here against foreigners, motivate young people to be active and participate in European Mobilities. We plan work with the volunteers also in a way of involving them into our actiivities in which they can be creative and use their experiencies.
