PROJECT
FINISHED
At the center of our attention are young trainees in agricultural vocational training. To enable them to do the first steps in international mobility we realise the exchange with our five partners in Poland, France, Hungary, Sweden and Ireland. We are supported by the chamber of agriculture and the society of former students of our college. Our aim in this project is to send the students for three weeks to small and medium sized enterprises in the partner countries to get to know new structures and techniques of production and produce a documentation about the prodedures there. They are asked to evaluate their host farms and compare them to their home or work experience farms. Our focus is also on the sociocultural and intercultural dimension. The young people stay in host families on their own to get to know about everyday life and culture there.
Our young agricultural trainees are mainly from rural areas and are subject to traditional ways of thinking and dealing to which they believe they have to stick firmly. Through this exchange of young people we conveigh the idea of rapid progress and importance of increasing international competition on the agricultural market. The students develop a perception of varying conditions of production and an understanding of developments on the European agricultural market.
After 27 years of exchange activites of the Justus-von-Liebig-Schule the idea of European mobility has found its place meanwhile in the second generation of farmers within the region of Hannover.
For the further development of our exchange programme refering to learning outcomes which are acknowledged by the originating countries of students a further meeting and planning with teachers and instructors in agriculture is planned and necessary. This should take place in France in 2016.
