The formation of a European identity among adolescents is one of our school`s main purposes. Even though there have been numerous exchange programmes and obligatory seminars and workshops with a European focus for all students, not everyone is aware of his European identity and the European dimension of learning.The objective of this particular teachers' training is to equip colleagues from the English department with additional teaching skills and methods as well as ideas from an intercultural exchange to adjust and modify the curriculum in our Year 6. This programme should then be in accordance with what is needed for a successful participation in the "European Seminar" conducted each year with that year group. Furthermore, our experienced teachers are hoping for impulses and ideas to concentrate all existing acitivities and make the process of acquiring a European identity more distinct.The following measures should support this process of a greater dimension of learning in a European context: - teacher training (language skills, methods, contents) for all English teachers and teachers who are involved in the implementation of the new curriculum (designed for the preparation of the European Seminar)- redesigning of the curriculum in English for Year 6- evaluation of the realisation of the project- video project to further the exchange programmes of our school
