Learning to do business in Europe through participating in Gründercamps - for young entrepreneurs in Norway, Latvia and Sweden

Context and background:
- Generally, all participating schools have an equal supporting role in the project. Today, the role of each school is to teach students
how to become better entrepreneurs by helping them start their own companies, to be referred to as mini companies. The
students (age of 16-18) in each participating country run their own mini company as part of their business education.
- The project will start up September 2014 and end August 2016
The objectives of the project:
- The main purpose of this project is for all participating schools to assist the students in learning to do business in Europe as being
young entrepreneurs in Norway, Latvia and Sweden.
The number and profile of the participants:
- Foss videregående skole from and teacher Eline Hjelle will be the Applicant organisation (Norway)
- Rigas Valsts 3. gimnazija and principal Andris Priekoulis (Latvia)
- Strömstad Gymnasium and teacher Gunilla Ulfstad (Sweden)
- Each school will be represented at each of our four Conferences with 1-2 teachers and 8-9 entrepreneurship students each time
Description of activities:
- Arranging three Conferences that will include Gründercamps / Innovation Camps, cooperation between mini companies, a
company visit and a lecture on a subject within entrepreneurship: in Norway November 2014, in Latvia March 2015, in Strömstad
November 2015
- Arranging a Summarize Conference that will include participation in a Trade Fair, cooperation between mini companies, a company
visit and a lecture on a subject within entrepreneurship: in Norway March 2016
- Participating students will make a written essay, written report or oral presentation of their learning twice in December and twice in
June during the project
- Regularly cooperation and communication between mini companies
- Evaluation of the project during the four Conferences, and each December and June
Description of outputs:
- A Project WebPage set up within September 2014
- Evaluation Documents prepared November 2014
- Registration of the students' CV at the Europass Website March 2016
- A written essay, written report or oral presentation of the learning in this project from each participating student December 2014,
June 2015; December 2015 and June 2016
Methodology to be used in carrying out the project:
The goal of the four Conferences will be to motivate and aid the entrepreneurship students to do business in Europe. We will use different methods to achieve this, mostly practical methods:
- Participating in Gründercamp / Innovation Camp
- Mini companies cooperating
- Lectures about entrepreneurship
- Visiting established companies
- Participating in Trade Fair
- Communicating and sharing experiences and knowledge during the project, at different e-platforms, among these: our Project,
WebPage, EwB, e-Twinning, the Norwegian blog www.entreprenørskapsbloggen, Facebook etc.
A short description of the results and impact envisaged:
- The students have the competence to set up and run a sustainable business in an European content (including social
entrepreneurship)
- The students have built an increased understanding of the EU project, EU-values, EU-countries, citizens, cultures and economics
- The teachers and schools build networks though Europe and spread teaching strategies
- The teachers and schools strenghten ties with established companies as well as universities and organisations
- The partners and stakeholders understand more of what young entrepreneurs can bring to them and not only the other way round
- The partners and stakeholders see their social responsibilities in this field in a new way
The potential longer term benefits:
- The experiences and knowledge from this project will be useful for the students in their further education and future working life
- The experiences and knowledge gained from the Gründercamp, cooperation between the mini companies, lectures, company
visits, participating in the Trade Fair and the evaluation, - will be useful for the teachers in our future teaching and related projects.
- The project WebPage can be used for communication and information
- The Evaluation Documents can be used in similar projects
- The CV registration on the Europass Website will be useful for the students
- The essay, report or oral presentation (if based on PowerPoint) will be on our Project WebPage to inspire and inform future
students, teachers in similar activities and projects
