LEARNING SYSTEM BASED ON THE NTIC FOR THE DEVELOPMENT OF THE WORKERS' KEY COMPETENCES

The Foundry Sector, with a long tradition and experience, but lacking innovation and with a great demand of manpower, does not have departments specialised in people management. It has special difficulties to create specialised tools and carry out an analysis of its specific needs enabling it to identify and develop its key competences to transfer them to the new workers, thus increasing its competitiveness. Finally, despite the restructure occurred in the last years, there is no doubt that the SMES in the Sector have to face an increasingly changing environment that requires constant competence acquisition and development by the workers. In this regard, E-DECOM project, by transferring and adapting DIPROCU methodology to diagnose training needs in companies, is aimed at developing the learning environment by promoting pedagogic innovation in training in the Casting Sector companies, by creating and implementing an electronic learning system to develop the specific working skills and competences that are regarded as essential in the Casting Sector. The main result of the project is the elaboration of a Learning System based on the NTIC for the development of the workers’ key competences allowing the companies to reorganise and be competitive in the market. This competence identification will influence positively the different groups: workers of the Sector (bigger job security and employability); new incorporations –inmigrants or from other sector- (acquisition of the competences demanded by the enterprises); the companies (will be allowed to take profit from the business opportunities identified by means of professional human resources, improve the Sector image and attraction, enlarge their activity and increase the organisation flexibility).
