The VoLANGteer project promotes learning of regional languages through the design ofan appropriate methodology which introduces volunteers. The strategy consists in theestablishment of units (pairs) composed by 1 volunteer (local people whose motherlanguage is the regional one) as a tutor, and 1 foreigner (who wants to learn theregional language) with the commitment of meeting each other frequently for a period oftime ( i.e. once a week) to speak the regional language. For the successfulimplementation of this action, volunteers will be supported by educational and linguisticentities and will be given training in the designed methodology and the necessary toolsfor its implementation. The pilot regional languages are Galician and Frisk.Outputs of the project will be the methodology in 6 languages, a webpage with tools,learning and information material. The dissemination activities envisaged within theproject, will aim at transferring the methodology to other European regions.
