The project ‘Learning for better teaching’ is the KA1 project of the Cirkevna spojena skola in Vranov nad Toplou, Slovakia. The main objective of this project is to prepare a series of educational activities for the teachers of foreign languages at this school. We have prepared a 14-month project beginning on July 1 2016 and finishing on August 31 2017. Altogether we have selected 5 participants – three English teachers and one teacher of Geography and one teacher of social and media studies. All participants are the teachers of our school where they have been teaching for a couple of years.3 project participants are going to take part in 2-week courses and 2 other will participate in 1-week courses. The courses cover areas such as basic language development, methodology areas as well as the use of ICT. We are sure this project will bring a number of positives to the development of the pariticpants, students and our school. This project will help to increase the professional performance of the participants themselves by developing their language and cooperative skills.Moreover, the whole school will have a great benefit from sharing good practice and other ideas absorbed during the courses, which means that there are other teachers of our school who will gain a lot from this project.Finally, the participation in this project will serve a good example of how teachers can contribute to the development of their own personality as well as the whole institution, which can later be used as the beginning for preparing another similar project for other teachers.
