We want to enhance expression of social commitment and awareness in our young people through active participation. Our intention is to create new job opportunities. Volunteering helps to improve the quantity and quality of services and develop new services creatively.
This project has three receivin organizations:.. City Council of Pontevedra, Omar Association and Vaipolorío Association, all coordinated by Assoc Galega fro Developing Teachers. Each of these institutions offer a variety of activities to ensure a full, varied and with many learning opportunities volunteering. Volunteering will last for 11 months in which to carry out their tasks in different sectors. On one hand the City Council of Pontevedra develops a variety of activities that allow their citizens to be values; as non-discrimination, cultural expression, personal fulfillment, and especially the European impact through its activities Noites Abertas, stable and summer activities, dining and social care for people with disabilities; and now with the hosting of European volunteers. The City Council itself has as one of its main objectives civic participation and encourage associations to conduct and develop activities that improve the lives of its citizens.
On the other hand Assoc. OMAR plays a fundamental role in Pontevedra because it has a great responsibility for the musical activities. Thus develop percussion workshops, summer activities, tandem (improved native language, Galician and Spanish) and European projects that complement programming concello avoiding duplication in them.
Assoc. Vaipolorío through EVS retains the values of Pontevedra River preservation (Gafos) avoiding pollution, conserving and promoting wildlife and preserving traditional skills that arise from it through water. In addition to your summer activities and creating new projects.
This project contains a large ways of formal and non formal education through their activities, ensuring the learning process of the volunteers. Development volunteering is a team effort in which there will be different phases: organization, training, participation, monitoring and evaluation. Will conduct regular meetings for planning and support voluntary.
For the development of volunteerism, the methodology will be participation-action and socio-affective, promoting teamwork, consensus decision-making and cooperation among equals. That is, the volunteers will have a non-formal and intercultural learning through our learning opportunities. The ED offer volunteers a space for interaction, sharing ideas. Have the opportunity to contribute to the activities with their knowledge and skills. They can make their own analyzes, including reflections on the skills acquired during the activity. And make sure you will influence project decisions, not simply involve.
The results that we are on one hand the acquisition of basic skills by volunteers who will be reflected in the Youthpass. Improving the implementation of the activities developed through the SVE. The ED will learn to deal with European volunteers and give learning opportunities. Contribute to positive change in society.
Besides the expected impact on institutions and volunteers, we aim to contribute to the formation of national policies and systems and informing European governments each project partner on our EVS will communicate concerns and ask treated taken into account.
The main benefit to be derived is the cohesion of society and volunteering as a means of integration and social inclusion by creating bonds of trust and solidarity (social capital) among stakeholders.
