The project will design, develop and test a generic simulation tool for future technical workers in the processing industry, mainly operators, maintenance and automation workers. The simulation tool combines all elements of the essential techniques and processes offering learning steps for each phase based upon the learning style from Kolb. The simulation tool offers the opportunity to learn to know the essentials of the work processes that have to be monitored in the job and to practice in a realistic context processing techniques and tools. In this way, students are able to acquire the knowledge and a practical skill to analyse and solve problems that may occur in the production process which nowadays is fully automated. The project aims at establishing a more attracting learning environment and, through this, motivate the learners by providing an image of their future profession.
