Leaderboat- resonance leadership as a way for social inclusion
Start date: Jan 1, 2015, End date: May 31, 2015 PROJECT  FINISHED

“Leaderboat- resonance leadership as a way for social inclusion” is a seven day international training course that has the AIM to develop the participants- youth workers and leaders- competence in resonance leadership, as a way to successfully integrate in the social life the youngsters found in risk of exclusion. It is widely recognized that social exclusion produces deep and long term damage to the living conditions, social and economic participation, emotional life, and health status of young people. It also contributes to the inter generational transmission of poverty, school abandon and all types of socially dangerous behaviors. We choose resonance leadership as a way to fight social exclusion, because recent studies in group dynamics and psychology have showed that there is a strong link between a leader’s emotional maturity, exemplified by such capabilities as self-awareness and empathy, and his or her work. High levels of emotional intelligence create climates in which information sharing, trust, healthy risk-taking, and learning flourish. In our vision, in such environments, youngsters at risk of exclusion can find the guidance to face their fears and take responsible decision that support the creation of a healthy, inclusive society. We designed this training with a focus on youngsters at risk of social exclusion and their models, the youth workers. We believe that resonant leaders can be the ones that create the change in the life of youngsters in risk of exclusion by being capable to show high levels of: understanding and empathy, tolerance and acceptance and in the same time, they equipped with tools and skills to help those youngsters deal with their fears, be capable of taking decision and making coherent, concrete plans for their life. The training course will take place in march 2015, in the city of Lodz, Poland and is the result of collaboration between organizations from Poland, Spain, Portugal, Romania, Estonia, Turkey, Hungary or Cyprus that work with different youth groups at risk of social exclusion: youngsters with migrational background, disabled people or youth with an addiction history, youngsters that face gender discrimination or social exclusion based on their sexual orientation or Rroma ethnicity youngsters. The participants to the TC are not only getting an insight view but also have the opportunity to practice different tools and exercises from different areas like: coaching, communication, group dynamics, conflict resolution, motivation and empowerment. The methodology of the training includes: group and individual coaching exercises, drama games and simulation exercises, movement in body/ body work, group work, study visit to local organisations, open space, personal storytelling.
