« La musique contre les extrêmes » (Music against Extremes) is an European laboratory for musical creation to fight extreme ideas. The principle is based on intercultural exchange, and the sharing of knowledge and experiences through meeting. During twelve days, 56 young people from France, Poland, Estonia and Spain meet in the French city of Pons with the aim of sharing around extremes and the radicalization of ideas. Intercultural dialogue is at the heart of the project. The objective is to both share an experience and allow young people, who can be outside of a school environment, to share their passion and their skills and to discuss topical issues all together.The « La musique contre les extrêmes » project includes cultural and patrimonial trips in the host city, as well as workshops, exhibitions and public concerts. The European laboratory for meeting of young people is unique because there is no competition between musicians and orchestras. More than ever, the important thing is not to win a prize or get ahead of others, but know each other by creating together in a collective and united way. Meeting around our passion to allow dialogue with people we do not meet every day within the framework of mandatory schooling, this is the spirit of the « La musique contre les extrêmes » event.
