PROJECT
FINISHED
The project has been written for the benefit of students of ZSE in Mielec, particularly students of Technical Secondary School number 1, tourism services oriented classes. (32 students, divided into 2 groups of 16 people each plus 2 tutors per each group)The project was expected to meet needs of future graduates who are about to enter competitive, especially nowadays, job market, which offers employment mainly to professionals practically acquainted with specification and requirements of a certain job position. The global recession and raise of the retirement age caused many people worldwide become unemployed and only the ones with the best references and practical knowledge as well as experience are given chances of employment. The aim of the project was: 1) increase the attractiveness of the profile of a potential employee who is practically adapted for standards of the European job market
2) enable our students to compare the range of skills and abilities their European peers acquire to the ones they develop in Poland during their vocational training
3) ensure favourable, practical conditions for continuation of the students’ educational process
4) improve students’ practical knowledge of the English language, make them perceive the language of the globalised world as the basic tool of communication for people employed in tourism, as the tool that will help them cooperate with other people in the English language dominated world, give the students a chance to learn a completly new to them language-Italian, boosting their language competences and enhancing mobility of foreign languages users
5) encourage students’ positive inner motivation and boost their self-confidence as the important element of the psychological process of preparation for gaining a wealth of experience in a new job environment and ambience in the near future ( it is extremely important since 68% of the students come from rural areas, others from broken homes or their families suffered greatly because of devastating floods in 2010 and 2011 and those students commonly suffer from poor self-esteem)
6)make the school highly desirable as the local and regional place of education and attract more interest from potential candidates
7) increase and improve the level of education and vocational training at school to the benefit of its students
The desired and achieved results of the project were:
1) acquisition and improvement of students’ practical skills as far as hotel-related environment is concerned
2) increase of students’ practical knowledge
3) full use of acquired European patterns and standards of work and their transfer to the homeland
4) enhanced practical knowledge of the English language and encouragement to its optimum use, learning opportunity of a less widely used European language- Italian
5) facilitation and stimulation of the psychological process that generates positive inner motivation in the students and builds up their self-confidence
6) achievement and promotion of full equality of opportunity between disadvantaged students (rural areas, flood-related problems, financial and social problems) and those without such problems
Practical training, as stated in the project took place in Rimini, Italy. Students of the first group had their trainings in May 2015, the other in September 2015.
