Several times a year, the Centre of European Culture of Saint-Jean d'Angély offers exchanges for young people aged 13 to 25 years old with the aim of increasing European awareness. During an exchange, young people from three European countries have the chance to live together for a period of two consecutive weeks where they are encouraged to reflect on a theme which, in our case, will be: "Unity in the diversity of the 28 Member States". This experience should enable young people to learn about their own identity while promoting awareness, understanding and respect for other cultures. This reflection will be carried out through lectures followed by debates, artistic and cultural activities and cultural workshops. The main objectives of this exchange are: 1) to allow young people to work on their common cultural roots through learning outcomes developed at the Centre of European Culture on the theme of European citizenship; 2) to make artistic creations, in small groups of young people from three different nationalities, with professionals who want to share their passion and expertise with this type of audience; 3) to discuss together issues of European current affairs; 4) to take every opportunity to discuss, meet and work with people you do not meet every day; 5) to create links with people who generate new encounters, new European educational projects and who have a huge influence on the open-mindedness of others; 6) to allow these young people, who are recent immigrants, to find their way more easily in their host country.
