The goals of this project are to expose students to all realms of the Spanish language: culture, history, geography, economy and enterprises. To do this, students will visit historical sites, museums, participate in internships, take classes and be immersed in daily life by living with Spanish host families. This project that is planned to take place from September 21 to November 1 2015, concerns 10 students that are in the professional programs at LyceeElie Castor (sales, marketing and management, and administration) and five chaperons (three teachers, one director and a Spanish assistant.) All of the members of this project will be welcomed by a professional by the professional institute in Madrid, Spain. The trip will be very organized: students will participate in two weeks of training following four weeks working in a practicum. This project will no doubt have a positive impact on the participants who will be able to discover the richness of the Hispanic world, gain knowledge about the European culture and come back to French Guiana will international skills in technology. The students will be more confident, independent and will be more equipped to enter the work force. This exchange will be equally as beneficial for the Spanish students who will be hosting the participants who will gain knowledge about the French Guyanese culture. This student will also gain knowledge about the domain that they wish to work in. This being said, each Spanish student will be partnered with a participant from French Guiana and will accompany them to class, host them in their families, work with them on their practicums and introduce them to evening activities.
