PROJECT
FINISHED
The Municipality of Borås, District Dept West, Section for Culture & Leisure, wish to welcome two EVS volunteers whom will work towards our youth. Their work will be situated at Kristineberg activity house, wherein young people have the chance to hang out and plan their own activities. The project aims to stimulate mutual tolerance and raise awareness about other cultures, to develop mutual understanding for people with different cultures and to reduce prejudice. The objectives also include fostering a feeling of a European identity and working with a coaching approach where young people feel as they are active participants in the society. This sense of belonging and active citizenship will become substantial through creative activities such as dance, outdoor activities, IT workshop etc. We would like for our volunteers to be active youth workers, wherein they work directly with social inclusion and have the chance to stimulate debates about youth democracy and influence. The chosen volunteers; Anastasios from Greece and Danuté from Lithuania, will also work with promotion of Erasmus+. They will focus their attention on spreading of information and motivating people to participate in EVS wherein citizenship and European awareness becomes a vital aspect. By allowing people to meet, we would like to create a place where new ideas can grow, and where new things can be learned. We think that new meetings can contribute to a positive attitude towards new cultures, people, and ideas, which can lead to a desire to discover other countries and ways to learn, this project is a part of that idea.
