PROJECT
FINISHED
The Pater Damian School would like to further develop its school project targets as independent and self responsible learning, understanding of democracy, development of strength, competence orientated learning, and critical thinking, to enable the teachers to prepare for these tasks, hand them the necessary tools to fulfil their duties. Well-founded knowledge, aquired and exercised skills as well as the possibility for international comparison are certainly precious ways to help, guide, and strengthen the students on their way to become an independent, creative, and communicative member of the society. All our projects aim at this.
The neuro-linguistic programming (NLP) formation, where one of our lateral entrant young teachers takes part, takes place over al longer period of time in weekend seminars. The all in all 22 days of formation aim at a better understanding of the learning process, of the development of strategies to promote the competences of pupils. The well-founded training allows a more flexible estimation of the pupil´s capacities and it shows strategies to solutions which can be adapted in school to solve problems of learning.
The training Train the Trainer, held in a weeks block, permits the lateral entrance teacher to learn about techniques to transmit knowledge (to pupils and colleagues). Didactics, methodology, development of the teacher´s personality, and e-learning are transmitted by group exercises, training circles, and theoretical input. This facilitates the multiplication effect for the teacher in our school and beyond.
The WingWave formation, which requires some knowledge in NLP, coaching and communication psychology, is followed by a teacher during 4 days. The teacher will enlarge her experience to be able to offer the best possibilities for alternative ways of learning for weak pupils. The rather theoretical training contains aspects of bilaterale hemisphere stimulation and elements of NLP. Here, our school expects alternative and variable ways of helping, coaching and supportingall pupils with learning difficulties in the best possible way.
At the art project one of our most experienced art teachers will learn during 10 days new techniques, which we will be able to implement during our project work days. In these 3 days of project work the usual school business is interupted and the pupils work for 3 days in a chosen project mainly self-determined and goal-orientated. Learning of sculpture skills permits the school short- and midterm offers of projects on a wider range. The mostly top-heavy offers could be enlarged by a practical, haptic, and handcrafted variation. The transmission of the learned techniques to the other art teachers would speed up the multiplication of aimed project diversification.
