The exchange has its focus on cooperation and communication. Throughout the week the young people will be introduced to different types of communication, including verbal and nonverbal communication. During the week the youngsters are going to work with communication and different forms of expression. They will meet politicians who will tell them how they use communication – both theoretically and in their daily practice. We will attend a 1st May meeting to observe how politicians communicate when addressing large assemblies. We will follow up on the meeting; discuss the speeches, what was good, what was not. How did the politicians use their body, their tone of voice, breaks etc.We will go on a guided tour in Folketinget (The Danish Parliament). Here we will try to get in contact with at politician – if possible a young politician. Ask him or her how they are being trained in communication skills to ensure that their message gets through loud and clear. To help us learn nonverbal communication we cooperate with “Cirkus Tværs” in Aarhus. They will host a seminar on bodylanguage – based on nonverbal communication. On top of that we will spend a day on AFUK (Akademiet For Utæmmet Kreativitet – The Academy of Untamed Creativity). Here we will be challenged in performing more abstract nonverbal communication. The youngsters will be divided into groups where they will be preparing a presentation. The groups will be created as a mix of the different countries represented to teach them to cooperate. What they tell in the presentation is not as important as how they present their message.During this week they will be introduced to different theoretical types of communicational theory.
