The Kebele stream is a common interest watercourse near the Hungarian and Slovenian border which once it rises to Q1 % floods 712 ha on the Hungarian side, and more than 1,000 ha of arable land on the Slovenian side. The goal of the project was to channel the flood wave in controlled conditions and permanently protect the region from floods. A process of land development could be started in the current floodplain, the traffic infrastructure became safer and preconditions are attained to develop a road network. Achievements: The built accumulation encompasses sections 12+762 rkm of the Kebele and 1+146 rkm of the Szentgyörgyvölgyi streams. The accumulation reduce the risk of great floods by 60 %. The surface of the flood lake is 272 sq. meters, and the volume of accumulated water 2.84 million cubic meters. The accumulation is built in Hungary, but its effect is also felt across the border. On the Hungarian side, the system protects the municipalities of , while on the Slovenian side the system protect the settlements along the Kebele and Lendava basins.
