PROJECT
FINISHED
Kimpinen Upper Secondary School has provided relatively little training for teachers in the last years due to several reasons and has not had very much international projects either. We would like to change that. The aim of the courses is to increase both the teachers' competences in their subject and the ability and readiness to act internationally. We hope that they set an example for others in inspiring them to seek training and participate more actively in school activities, for example, in the projects of sustainable development and internationalisation. Our goal is to establish internationalisation as part of everyday life in our school.
At this point three teachers and the headmaster showed their interest in the courses. The possibility to apply for support was given to all teachers. We are applying the grant for a period of 12 months, for we hope that the example set by the participants will encourage others so that we can apply again next year and get more teachers interested in this kind of training. This time the participants are foreign language teachers, a philosophy-psychology teacher and a mathematics teacher acting as headmaster. They are applying for 7-10-day courses in Iceland, Austria, the UK and Czech Republic. The courses are fairly different and enhance each participant's competence in their subject and the school curriculum.
We hope that the courses and and the example set by the teachers participating in them will support our goal to become a more dynamic, modern and committed organisation and work environment. If we succeed in that, it is bound to be reflected as a greater sense of community, both within colleagues and within students.
