Today we phase the phenomenon where particular people have no recognition by, or voice or stake in, the society in which they live as natives, migrants or refugees. "Kick-off for Inclusion" is a youth exchange aiming to foster a social cohesion in order to break down the bonds that bring the young people together, in the context of cultural diversity. This youth exchange will give the opportunity for 40 youngsters from 6 countries to emphasize the potential of sport as a key tool in breaking down social barriers and tackling the causes of marginalization and social exclusion of young people. Working in intercultural environment, with application of non-formal and informal methods in duration of 8 days, participants will have the opportunity to run workshops, simulation exercises, attend theoretical sessions, lead discussions, practice outdoor sport activities and exchange knowledge and experience peer-to-peer. On the one hand we will include participants who are running professional or recreational sport activities and on the other hand participants facing social and economical obstacles, migrants, refugees or youngsters belonging to an ethnic minority. Regardless of their background, we will point up the importance of cultural diversity and active participation. As a final result, participants will organize a sports tournament named "Varėna International Youth Sports Day" in cooperation with high school and youth sport clubs from Varėna town. In this sports event we will engage 30 locals who will have the chance to play sports and compete in mixed international teams, breaking the stereotypes about their team-mates on national, ethnic, racial or cultural basis. The sport event will be held on public sport grounds open for public audience and media. In this way we will make multiple impact on the local community of Varena promoting sport as a tool for cultural integration and inclusion. After the project participant will disseminate the project results sending a message to their local communities that sport and cultural opportunities can play an important part in reengaging disaffected sections of our communities, building shared social capital and grass roots leadership through improved cross-cultural interaction.
