PROJECT
FINISHED
This project aims keeping up to date. Dealing with data and the use of new and motivating methods at school are very important issues in our centre. The new gained methods and knowledge will make a profit for our pupils and will help our school to get our goals.
A total of three teachers will be participate in two courses abroad. Two in a “data security "course and one in a "Language & Methodology for Secondary School Teachers of English".
In the Data Security training, the teachers will gain competence in dealing with IT and New Media as well as with a critical point of view upon its use considering data security aspects. They will tackle legal questions, the issue of the didactic and methodic integration in the classroom and the new forms of the IT use (Mobil Devices and Social Networks). They will increase their methodological knowledge in order to integrate the questions about data security and will learn the influence of new media on and for schools. The participants will get intercultural impressions and enhance their understanding about Europe related to education, information exchange and open learning resources.
In this way, on the one hand, the experiences gained in the project will lead us into a significant improvement in the meaningful didactic use of ICT and the internationalization of our lessons. On the other hand, the problems of the use of IT as a subject of discussion and the opportunity for the teachers and pupils to face this challenge will lead us into a decisive improvement in our sensitization with data security.
During the "Language & Methodology for Secondary School Teachers of English"course, the participants are given the opportunity to practise and improve their English Language skills, enhance their vocabulary and expression and refresh their teaching techniques and approaches. It is aimed to provide the participant with plenty of new, practical ideas to take back home and use in the classroom. In addition, they are introduced to different aspects of traditional and contemporary British culture which they may not have encountered before.
The courses consist of workshop sessions delivered in a co-operative and productive way which encourage the participants to share their experiences and ideas with others. The various modules of the course are organised thematically and cover wide-ranging topics such as Teaching the Four Skills, Art, Education, Music, Technology, Culture among others. These sessions consist of Presentation, Practice and Production stages with the emphasis on the practical rather than the theoretical.
In the last week of the course, participants are given a micro-teaching assignment. On the final course day, they are required to teach a lesson lasting about 15 minutes using authentic materials from everyday sources such as media, household, restaurants, shopping, cinema, travel etc. They are encouraged to incorporate modern, web-based technology into their assignment to make it relevant and up-to-date.
