"Buying for the garbage dump" is the topic of this Youth Exchange hosting 34 youth from Austria, Hungary, Slowenia, and Poland, which takes place in Grafenbach, Carinthia, from August 1st to 10th, 2014. Through discussions, workshops, presentations and games the participants analyze our consumption habits and search for ways to make better use of our resources - environmental as well as economical - to gain personal satisfaction and to realize our responsability for the generations to come. To that purpose it is essential to have a closer look on our consumption habits. It is important to realise that our consumtion habits affect economy and society in future generations, too. So we work on strategies to achieve the aim of having a sound world with content people. The participants live together under one roof for ten days, they define the house rules themselves, help each other with the programme and the daily work, eat, sleep and play together. So they lay the basis for companionship, that can lead to ongoing friendship. All participants are learners of the German language, which is the working language at this exchange. Thus they practise their language skills as well.
