Project "Camp of volunteers: Summer in the Golden Valley" will take place in the village Latinovac, municipality of Čaglin in Croatia, during July and August 2014. It is intended for EVS volunteers from Lithuania (1), Spain (3) and Bosnia and Herzegovina (4). The project’s goal is to promote a sustainable way of living and to support development of rural areas with youth mobility.
Activities that will be provided during this project are: permacultural education, Straw festival, ReCreative activities, nonviolent communication seminar, Dragon dreaming education, writing project proposals education, language studying and movie making. We are going to implement various methods to carry out these activities. There will be individual and group approach during workshops/seminars/meetings. In our work, we will use power point presentations, organize interactive lectures, show thematic movies and organize discussions on various topics. We will support and encourage creativity during the whole project. Together with volunteers, we will create a Facebook profile and web page of Eco Center Latinovac and we'll make a blog. Volunteers will be responsible for making a movie that will present the whole work in the project.
The results we plan to achieve are transfer of knowledge about permaculture, nonviolent communication, project proposal writing and different methods of group work. The project is important because it promotes work and living experience in another country (rural area) and learning about new cultures. We plan to make two new project proposals during project writing workshop. By connecting EVS volunteers with local youths, we promote and spread ideas about the importance and benefits of youth mobility in personal growth and development. We want to encourage and support local youths to take active part in European projects for young people.
Sustainable growth and local community development are necessary for regional and national development. With this project, we encourage and support local activism and positive changes.
The project will empower youth mobility and create new experiences. By understanding and familiarizing ourselves with cultural, national and civilizational diversity, we promote a substantial decrease in discrimination and violence in the society.
Volunteers will be able to spread knowledge, skills and experiences among young people in their home countries. Eco Center Latinovac and partner organizations will support volunteers to make this happen.
