Skilled labor requirement formed in the regions of our tourism facilities and accommodation centers is unfortunately inversely proportional to the needs of the sector. Even though the demand for skilled labor in the sector has been increasing, graduated students have problems about being employed because of the fact that they do not have the required competencies. To fill this blank in the sector, we need to create a consortium to support our students and staff. Within this project, our students will be visiting Germany, Romania and Czech Republic. Our project named "Providing Labor for Qualified Facilities: Training Activities in Europe" will be carried out in 3 stages and is prepared by Kiraz Teacher Center and Evening Art School. Our project partners are as follows: Halim Foçalı Vocational and Technical High School, Kiraz Vocational Training Center and Konak Alsancak Nevvar Salih Employee Vocational and Technical High School. Involving basic food consumption and open buffet issues, our project will be completed with the participation of 38 students and 7 staff. For updating curriculums, increasing the quality of education, preventing early drop outs and for the development of the staff and management skills, it is necessary to co-operate with overseas partners. With this project, we aim to accelerate the development; theoretical and practical knowledges of students and staff who study in food and beverage departments. Within the help of our overseas partners, our students and staff will be learning about European culture, it's most preferred vegetables, cooking techniques such as Poche-boulli, steaming and braising. As a result of this project which will be carried out for 2 weeks, they will improve their knowledge in the preparation of entrees and appetizers, appetizer arrangements, preparation and storage of hot and cold hors d'oeuvres. Our participants will be able to prove their competency with given certificates. They will also be able to improve their professional skills, European cultural and social activities with their experiences. In long term, this project will be held with each of our consortium members and will help to contribute the strategic development. With the increasing quality of education, our institutions will become one of the central institutions in our region and with Erasmus+ projects and the corporation with European educational institutions, we will move to further points.
