In the International Youth Exchange " Jung sein in Europa - Eine europäische Begegnung zwischen Stadt und Land” (“Being young in Europe - A European exchange between city and countryside") young people from Bilbao / Spain and Berlin / Germany meet from 29.07 - 07.08.2014 in Berlin and the Bavarian countryside . These 24 young people and their four teamer engage in these 10 days together in the differences between the urban and rural life in Germany in workshops, business games and conversations with each other and other actors (local politicians) and compare and reflect among themselves in the European context. In addition, the possibilities of recreation and dealing with nature and the environment in a European comparison are considered. The participants should also have the opportunity to learn in an informal way about Berlin and Tiefenbach, where the Schreberjugend Berlin has the Summercamp Hannesried. We give interested young people the opportunity to meet each other in Germany to compare on their different cultural, social and political backgrounds. The young people are free to influence individual program points and participate actively in the configuration of the workshops. We give them a high degree of personal responsibility for the success of the International exchange, which should strengthens their self-confidence and promotes the concerns of the international encounter. Resources such as empathy, values and standards understanding and reflection on one's own society be strengthened and stabilized. Content and methods of the project should convey the participants important skills in the areas of communication, leadership skills, taking responsibility, empathy and teamwork. Goal is an intensive get to know about the others and their different lifestyles and backgrounds, a reflected and tolerant approach in European cooperation as well as a conscious and careful use of nature and environment.
