The City of Vienne is entitled to welcome young people on its territory in the framework of the European Voluntary Service Erasmus+ programme (accreditation as receiving and coordinating organization).
The mutualisation of the International Relations and Youth departments allows hosting a young volunteer in the Town Hall of Vienne since 2006.
Hosted volunteers have the opportunity to discover how a French local authority works and to get implied into different areas, such as youth policy and international relations.
This cross-sector approach of the two departments allows volunteers to reflect on different projects targeting the promotion of Europe and works with youth (exhibitions, international concerts, creating devices/tools, awareness campaigns about European elections, actions to be put in place around European mobility, etc.).
The EVS project of the City of Vienne lasts ten months (long term) ; the youth will be in position to emphasise his/her ability and knowledge through different missions :
1 / Exchange, propose and assist :
• provide his/her own experience to other volunteers, foreign partners, students, etc.
• be able to propose some actions with and for local organizations (associations, municipal structures or multi-territories)
• assist and support youth in theirs projects
• assist in the setting up of seminars and trainings for young people and youth workers
2 / Allow both youngsters and Vienne operators/skilled workers to better understand international mobility : promote EVS commitment, multiculturalism, etc.
3 / Contribute to events that promote Europe: involvement in the missions of the Youth Information Centre and International Relations Department when they host foreign partners and delegations, propose European workshops, etc.
