Twenty-four young people aged 14 to 18 years from three European countries - Germany, Estonia and Bulgaria will meet for a week in Cologne,in order to deal with youth unemployment in the EU, problems and difficulties with career entry. The project "Youth on the job" should make young people aware of current social problems, encourage them to identify possible solutions and to name them. By using the European comparison of opportunities for all young people in the context of the right to freely choose your career and the research on the labor market in their countries, not only the further development of equal opportunities for all young people is shown, but also an inter-cultural dialogue will be created. Due to the interaction between participants from three countries, the social and intercultural competence of each individual young people will be encouraged, equally an interaction with each other, which is characterized by mutual acceptance, tolerance and respect. Young people should learn from and be strengthened in the development of their personality by developing both, independent and joint thinking and taking responsibility for themselves and the group. The pedagogical approach of the project is aligned strongly participative and based on the needs and interests of young people. These take place throughout the learning process with peers (in so-called. "Peer groups") and non-formal level. The participants are mainly young people with immigrant backgrounds, who are often affected by educational disadvantage. Each group researches the topic of youth unemployment and problems and difficulties in the career entry in their countries, is shooting a documentary and brings them along to the meeting. The main theme of the international meeting reflects the interests and needs of participants, because it is directly related to the future of young people. The exploration of their own situation may indicate possible ways of resolving and strengthen the interest and motivation for this topic. The young people have a strong interest to meet peers from other European countries and to deal together with the fears and concerns that are associated with youth unemployment, career choice and career entry through creative means (rolling films). Finally they will present a collaborative created documentary film in three languages, which will be shown in the other youth facilities in Germany, Estonia and Bulgaria. Methodically the cooperation will happen in workshops, thematic working groups, independent research, and outdoor work, the pedagogical approach is always focused on participation and initiative.
