PROJECT
FINISHED
The project "Agricultural Teachers Go Abroad" emits 36 vocational teachers over a period of 2 years to 8 different countries (AT, CZ, ES, FI, IE, NL, PL, RO). For the application a consortium of 15 of EUROPEA-Denmark’s 19 member schools has been established. Altogether, the 15 schools have app. 2,300 employees and nearly 15,000 full-time students per year. The 8 foreign partners are all centrally placed in EUROPEA-International, which is a vocational school network in 25 countries with more than 1,000 green sector schools as members.
The project's purpose is twofold. Its first objective is to strengthen the participants' own international knowledge, skills and competences so that they - better than before this project - may contribute to the internationalization processes and activities on their own school. Secondly, the objective is to strengthen education institutions' ability to cooperate on internationalization policies and actions through networks like the one, which all schools in this project consortium are members of: EUROPEA-Denmark.
The project builds on the organization of the participants into smaller travel groups consisting of 2 or 3 participants each. Each travel group has a agro-professional, didactical, methodological or other aim, which they must actively formulate, and which may inspire internationalization both at the participant’s own competence level and at staff capacity level on his/her home school.
EUROPEA-Denmark is responsible for the overall management of the project and conveys it to the participating schools. Further, EUROPEA-Denmark participates in the selection of participants, coordinates communication and dissemination, and is responsible for evaluation and final reporting. Participants must formulate their learning objectives in conjunction with the host institution, take active part in organizing the travel abroad and contribute to the gathering of experiences and knowledge sharing, both orally and in writing. The schools in the consortium will contribute to the identification of staff to be involved in the project, and assign participants sufficient time to participate in it.
As contribution to knowledge sharing EUROPEA-Denmark will produce a catalogue of inspiration based on the travel groups’ reporting. Partly, the idea is to strengthen the capacity of schools to cooperate on internationalization. And partly it tries to strengthen the network of actors in the internationalization processes (such as EUROPEA). The joint Annual Meeting of the schools in 2015, 2016 and 2017 will be an important framework for raising awareness of the project and its potentials – but also for the dissemination of its results.
