Joint Masters in International Tourism and Events Management

The project „...” is aimed at enhancing the quality of education possibilities that correspond to the needs of today’s labor market in the Baltic states. The consortium involves 7 partners where 3 partners represent the Baltic states who will join their efforts to deliver the master’s programme to be developed in the English language; and 3 partner organizations from UK, Italy and Russia who will contribute towards transfer of know-how, specifically introduction of new methods such as group consultancy projects; involvement of professional partner will ensure the programme is relevant to the industry. The project is developed in order to respond to the limited skilled human resources in the growing tourism industry in the Baltics where more innovative, creative and professional solutions are needed. Among other things, the interdisciplinary programme plans to focus on providing its graduates with skills and competencies of fields such as Tourism, Communication and PR, Business and ICT. ICT tools and use of technologies in particular will be integrated in all aspects of programme development and delivery. The partners acknowledge that all experts, knowledge, technologies are in place for the creation of such programme which will be a big step forward in the modernisation of the curricula in the Baltic countries. The project will be executed in three main phases: needs analysis, designing and testing. On top of that, there will be ongoing quality and dissemination dimension to these processes to ensure the project results are delivered according to the excellence standards set and the outputs reach all the necessary target audiences, including potential beneficiaries. The main project outputs include: research and analysis compendium, training in group consultancy method and curriculum in International Tourism and Event Management. These outputs foresee the accredited joint mater’s programme in 2014.
