Job trainer for people with intellectual disabili..
Job trainer for people with intellectual disability and autism spectrum disorders
The RATIONALE of the proposal basis on the need to train VET experts to be reference figures in the processes of job inclusion in company contexts for people with intellectual disbility and autistic spectrum disorders. MAIN AIM is to transfer (it’s a geographic, linguistic/cultural and functional transfer, from IT to AT, ES, MT, TR and from autism to a wider spectrum of intellectual and psychic disabilities) of the products and the training programme Ref PA 2011-1219/RE funded in 2011 with ESF funds by Province of Reggio Emilia: a) the job Trainer’s system of competences to: analyze each individual’s disabilities and potentials with reference to their social context; single out and select the host work context in order for it to meet the individual’s expectations, potential and sensorial charateristics, identifying the company goals and analysing the requested skills/abilities; strengthen soft skills and abilities, as well as vocational ones that may favour the idividual’s job placement in the host context; manage and foster the person’s job placement in the company: b) the training programme organized in 4 UC on the model of the “Regional Qualification System” standards of Regione Emilia Romagna to cover which 7 TU foresee different methodologies (classroom, individual Project Work, in- context learning). The latter is the moment in which participants are given the opportunity to practice “on the job” the skills they have learned by “matching” an individual with intellectual disabilities and/or autistic spectrum disorders who wishes to benefit from a job placement experience in a company on the free market; c) the devices (tools, guidelines, protocols of use) aiming at both the pedagogical organization of the job trainer’s course and its practical role. The expected outcome is the complete transfer, spread and dissemination of the 3 products described (as Training Model) for developing the competences and good practices necessaries to facilitate the employment of disabled people. Foreseen impacts refer to (among others): the trained VET personnel acts as a “spill over”, ensuring a structural support in transition times; the VET system becomes more attractive as a more inclusive place that backs up disabled people in a true “life plan”, preventing them from risks of marginalization and depletion; companies competitiveness is increased by the implementation of personnel that is appreciated in their capacities. Partnership: guarantees 1) representativeness of both direct (VET personnel, through P0 and P4) and final target groups (autistic and intellectual disabled people, through P2 and P3; in particular P2 is the spokesperson of 3,3 million autistic people in EU); 2) foreign partners from countries that particularly need to develop job integration policies aimed at disabled people (P3); 3) expertise on the management of transnational, multi-lateral transfer projects.
