PROJECT
FINISHED
Youth exchange “Job OpportuNEETy”finances by European Commission through Erasmus+ programme, gather 35 young people from Romania, Bulgaria, Croatia, Cyprus, Greece, Italy and Spain, that are neither in employment nor in education and training (NEETS), which have difficulties in start looking for a job, obtaining a good job, after they finish school. Activities will take place in the city Drobeta-TurnuSeverin (Romania) from 11-21 February 2016. Main objectives of this youth exchange:After the 4 month project, the 35 participants will:1. Know what their options on the job market are, what are their skills and what is a good job for their skills set, what are the best ways to find and to apply to a job and how to prepare for a job interview. 2. Develop their skills regarding how to promote their skills in different types of CV, how to compose a motivational letter, how to adjust their CV to each specific job, how to use verbal, non-verbal and para-verbal communication in an interview and how to build their career. 3. Be more willing to apply to many jobs without losing their confidence in their ability to obtain a great job, will be more relaxed at interviews, will have a better self-esteem, they will realize that they are valuable to the working environment and have a positive attitude towards building a career based on their competences and desires. 4. 80% of the participants will apply to min 10 jobs, 40% will be called for a job interview and minimum 20% will obtain a job. Beside the fact that our project responds to the y.p needs (see point E) it also responds to our needs as organizations and to the need of different communities of Romania. All partner organizations are interested in helping y.p. to have more confidence, to find a job, to use the competences that they are developing by being our volunteers. We also want to raise our capacity of implementing projects and to foster our cooperation. Methods (non formal methods, indoor, outdoor, involving the community ) that we gather will develop their competences (discovering passions, defining personality type, learning to learn, drawing life and career line, researching, SWOT analyzing, acting, preparation of Europass and Video CV, sending CV to companies, communication skills, attending interview etc) will challenge their creativity and will keep them motivated. The most important impact of the project will be for our 35 participants, which will develop themselves not only during the activities in Drobeta-TurnuSeverin but also in the preparation and mentoring period, which is following:• They will acquire practical knowledge about how to write a CV and a motivational letter. • They will send a minimum of 5 applications to job vacancies (during project activities) and min.10 when they come back home. We estimate that 50% of the participants will be called for an interview and min. 5 participants will even get a job. The impact will be major, even for the ones that will not be accepted or called, by the fact that they will learn how to apply, how to actively search for a job. • All the participants will learn new ways to find a job: go directly to the firm, ask your friends, use linkedIn, video CV, etc. We think that more than 70% will start using these methods and we expect a big impact in a long term perspective. In order to make better impact on local level, for conducting project activities, we choose location that not so many young people have the access to jobs and to “how to get a job” seminars. After doing a research, we realized that Drobeta-TurnuSeverin has one of the biggest rates of unemployed y.p. in Romania (http://www.anofm.ro/statistica). Impact on the young people from the community• They will understand they are not alone: they will see more y.p. looking for jobs • They will receive a brochure and they will also talk about new ways to find a job and how to realize what is a good job for you• They will get in contact with y.p from other countries, discover their culture and realize how easy it is to discover UE• They will find out more about E+ and how can they also participate in projectsDissemination of the project results will aim to help as many people as possible by sharing the outcomes of our project. By involving teachers and students in our dissemination activities we aim at obtaining a multiplier effect. We will recruit some of them to help us create a programme that will allow the students to have access to the information discussed in the project. We hope that such action can become part of the student’s education programme. By doing this we can reach a high number of y.p. (around 1000 a year/partner organization) and help to solve a big European challenge. The dissemination of our project is just a small step, but in case the public is receptive and we see we can create change, we will prepare a follow up, maybe in the form of a K2 project.
