Logement et Harmonie Sociale asbl will host a bilateral exchange in Brussels Belgium with the Centre Socio-Culturel Intercommunal Pierre Mendès France, from 18/08/2014 until 28/08/2014. Each partner will send 8 youngsters aged 16-22 & 1 youth worker. The group will come in contact and interact with the inhabitants of 3 neighbourhoods in Etterbeek (Brussels) through the production or restoration of artistic graffiti paintings. The main project will be the creation of a painting in the « Rolin » area, that will be created by the group and will take into account feedback from the inhabitants through the whole process. They will get to meet people from various ages thanks to activities with local senior’s clubs and with a group of younger kids (aged 14-16). The group will also discover Belgian street art heritage through visits in Brussels and Liège. Finally, they will experiment with another form of artistic expression with a slam poetry workshop that will allow them to produce texts that will be performed during the closing event. After the event, we expect the participation dynamics to spread to the groups that have come into contact with the youths.
