PROJECT
FINISHED
The central aim of this project is to meaningfully improve the quality of existing teaching, research and dissemination activities on issues related to European Union (EU) governance, EU policy-making and EU public policies. This will help to not only create a powerful learning environment on EU studies at the University of Pompeu Fabra, but will also foster and raise the profile of the learning and research contexts related to EU issues. Furthermore, it will redesign the EU subjects to enhance students with pedagogical innovations, introducing systematic assessment strategies and establishing networks of collaboration with key civil society actors. The inputs to be introduced into the EU studies programme will either be an annual lecture series, workshops or seminars focused on EU studies. Another input will be the introduction of new teaching methodologies and the strengthening of research activities. The measurable outputs of the project will be the development of tangible teaching and research portfolios, which will include the materials from all the events, held as well as research-based publications. One impact of the project will be to educate students with insightful knowledge about the EU integration process and to provide them with high standard professional skills. A second impact will be to strengthen the cooperation with civil society actors. A third impact will be the production of excellent research. This will help to improve the quantity, quality and accessibility of information on EU issues, developing new patterns of literacy about the EU integration process. All the teaching materials and resources developed by the project will be available as Open Education Resources on the website of the Project. The research papers elaborated will be submitted to the Social Science Research Network to ensure they are widely available. Finally, an External Supervisory Board will monitor the quality of the processes and outcomes of the project.
