The project has four main aims: a) to develop capacity for institution to teach on EU matters embodies in an official curriculum of the Faculty; b) to promote teaching on EU to students from other technical departments; c) to train, advise and mentor early stage teachers and researchers in EU studies; d) to provide a platform for the engagement of academic and non-academic agents and to stimulate the debate on the European issues. The specific teaching and non-teaching activities are directly related to the above mentioned objectives. The teaching of Chair holder consists of two main courses in the curriculum of the Faculty and new course directed to students from technical departments. The course: Introduction to European Economic Integration is destined mostly for foreign students (also non-EU students), enrolled in BA program and normally not having opportunity to come into contact with European studies. The promotion of teaching on the EU to students from other technical departments is based on the new course on European Economic Integration provided as optional course. The additional activities include: Annual Jean Monnet Workshop on Methodology of EU studies (targeted to early stage teachers and researchers to train them in the appropriate European studies), Jean Monnet Invited Lectures (delivered on the regular basis by leaders of the regional, national and international EU society), research carried by Chair holder on the topic of real and nominal convergence in the EU with the publishing activity, cooperation with other higher education institutions in the theme of EU studies, application of open educational resources (OER). The project aims to establish center of EU studies which can serve as the source of EU knowledge not only to the members of the institution (students and staff) but to broader public.
