PROJECT
FINISHED
We have noticed that in our actual societies, migrants are victims of discrimination, racism and social exclusion. In that type of background, and further to recent international current affairs, it seemed necessary to put in place a project linked to these topics. On that purpose, we would like to organise a youth exchange in Chisinau (Moldova) between youngsters from 16 to 25 years of age from 6 different countries (Belgium, Italy, Spain, Russia, Moldova and Georgia). The common point of those partner organisations is that they all work in migrants’ integration and youth’s aid sector, mainly from disadvantaged area or lower opportunities. With this in mind, the "JE PENSE DONC JE SUIS" (“I THINK SO I EXIST”) project has as aim to gather all those youngsters derived from immigration and/or who face struggle, from all social environment, ethnicities, and with different religions; and to make them work together on those topics by means of discussions, debates, play roles, situational exercises, undergone and experiences sharing through theatre and cinematography. At the end of the project, their discussions and theatre and cinematographic productions would allow them to not only see the world differently and be more tolerant after having been mixed up and worked with many different people, but would also give new tools for their future. Indeed, on one hand, these sharing and discussions would arm them in front of the future and their own social exclusion struggle, give them the opportunity to find a way to pull through and build themselves in a sustainable way. On other hand, thanks to proposed activities, they will learn new manners to express themselves, they will learn how to express themselves clearly, with confidence, they will learn new filming, assembly techniques, to use some tools, and who knows, maybe a new vocation will emerge...Everything would be done and organised bit by bit, in order to let everyone find their place in an universe that they don’t necessarily know: each partner organisation will prepare a mini show where every participant would be introduced (sketch or video), it would be shown on the first day of the exchange. During the next two days some forums, debates and discussions would be organized thanks to diverse activities on specific topics. The two days after would be dedicated to the discovery of improvisation techniques, theatre, and also staging, videos/movies shooting and assembly techniques with professional’s support. Finally, on the basis of scripts that they would write by themselves, participants will perform a play and a short movie on the same topics. The aim of this project is to make those young participants grow, to give them the key to their future, and to raise among them awareness on these topics as well, in order to heighten awareness of host communities and to convince them to fight against inequalities, discrimination and social exclusion. Those recorded projects could be disseminated on local, national and international level by means of projection/debates, the Internet and social networks, seminars, and also thanks to receptive institutions to that message and linked to our project.
