The project "Youth for democracy" will be realized in 2 EU member states - Latvia and Lithuania. Main activities will be hold in Riga and Riga region, and Vilnius and Vilnius region although some activities, project follow up activities and result dissemination will be held on all partner countries territory. Project themes are the following: 1. human rights - personal freedom, independence from other people point of view, freedom of future profession choice; 2. youth leadership - decision making and active participation in political and social life, importance of voting process. Project duration is 12 months. There will be 32 direct participants in the project, including 8 with fewer opportunities. The project is aimed to promoting youth participation in representative democracy mechanisms. Main activities are: 8 discussions un schools on the issue of project themes with participation of decision makers, filming 12 video reportages on democracy issues and unloading them to the portal www.tvweb.eu, common youth meeting in Vilnius for role games in simulating ES institution activity and decision making process, e-discussions in the portal about democracy and video reportages, essay competition in LV and LT schools, Youth Forum in Riga, drafting of recommendations for positive changes in democracy process and submitting them to decision makers, filming most of activities and uploading them in the portal, producing informational package (DVDs and booklets) for disseminating them in 500 LV and LT schools. Project's methods are contact development and discussions, command games, role games, working sessions, workshop, and filming videos.
